Hi Folks!

Hi Folks! This is Moneymore man Richard Finlay.  Some have heard of me and some haven`t.  I would be new on the scene in the past few years.

For those who don`t know me, I sing Country, Eagles songs and some Gospel - although I have to admit that I am big into The Eagles.

When I was seven years old my Grandmother bought me my first guitar as a Christmas present which I enjoyed very much.  I bought guitar books and learned how to play.  Nothing major materialised until I started to work as a Warden up at Springhill House in Moneymore (run by the National Trust).  To this day I still don`t know who mentioned it but somehow a friend from Holywood and member of a Caravan club found out I did a bit of singing.  They asked me if I would sing that Saturday night at The Barn in Springhill and it basically took off from there.

Since then I have had the privilege of performing in the Burnavon Arts & Cultural Centre, Cookstown with the Moneymore`s Got Talent group and was very pleased with the reception I got.  Thanks to MGT and the audience ;)

I write a lot of my own songs.  Around Christmas 2009 I wrote a Christmas song called Christmas Is A Time Of Peace and recorded it to CD a year later, Christmas 2010.  It was released as a Charity CD and sold 400 copies as well as being played on various Radio Stations (BBC Radio Ulster, Downtown Radio and Six FM)

You can also check out my singing on YouTube when I sang in Maghera for the Ulster-Scots Radio station fUSe FM.  That was one of my first concerts - it gave me a great boost and I would like to thank all those involved in that for giving me the opportunity to sing.
